Seasons of Change
March 10, 2025
Change is one of the few constants in life, yet it often brings discomfort. Whether it’s starting a new job, adjusting to unexpected circumstances, or simply growing older, uncertainty can make change feel overwhelming. Yet, every season has its purpose, just as there is a “time for everything under heaven.” Though transitions may seem unpredictable, they are part of a greater design shaping, refining, and leading us toward something beyond what we can see in the moment.
The closing of a familiar chapter can feel like being uprooted, leaving a childhood home, watching children grow and move on, or seeing friendships gradually drift apart. It’s easy to long for what was, uncertain of what’s ahead. But the best paths are often the ones we wouldn’t have chosen on our own. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Looking back, we often see how these moments were not losses, but preparations for something greater.
True change goes beyond circumstances; it transforms the heart. Growth requires letting go, allowing the mind to be shaped by something greater than the shifting world around us. Rather than conforming to the patterns of this life, we are called to be “renewed and transformed.” And while life is full of uncertainty, one thing remains steady, the One who declares, “I, the Lord, have not changed” is always guiding us forward.
